medusa

Really nice take on a subject that is hard to make unique.
The forest canopy.
The Underworld.

warrior sequence

Jake has some very basic ideas about an Island warrior god.  He'll select the most promising and develop it over the next few days, as you will see below...
Simple color and lighting added, with unformed ideas about rendering and texture.  Lot's to do to make this a usable work but the way forward becomes clearer.
The finished character.

Joyce Ng

Joyce makes these wonderful paintings that are unique to her alone.  Here's tweedledee and tweedledum, from Alice in Wonderland, as two huge pigeons.

Queen of Hearts with Alice and friends.

the white rabbit

I really can't ever get enough of Joyce's work: it's quirky and odd and extremely charming.  Charm isn't always as easy as it looks! Another from "Alice", this time with an un-rabbity rabbit.

Cassandra Mattes

Here's a really nice rough for a landscape from Cassandra's portfolio.  A few character studies follow.
Here are some really appealing ideas for faeries based on orchid designs.  These are simple but they also offer a multitude of possibilities, something we're looking for in early concept drawings.
Pixies -- another charming and interesting concept from Cassandra.

Berserker

Ren Cuaderes started with a small, rough sketch of a character for a Game project.  His rendering ability won't take him much farther than this, so he'll immediately move into an area where he is more comfortable and experienced: 3D modeling.
Ren has taken a very rough drawing and, using Z-Brush software, created a much more interesting character, as you can see.
Heres the final image, with atmosphere added in Photoshop.

Usable thumbs

Ideas start here, small and quirky.  Ken Solis has a whole crew of potential characters started in 25 minutes of drawing, no single figure larger than an inch.

Game assets

Study for a pack animal, also from Ken.

a few from hannah

Some studies from a Ray Bradbury story about Venusians
Great weirdness factor, worth pursuing...
It's unfinished but I can see so much potential that I had to show it to you!
